Facial Plastic Surgery

Beverly Hills

As a result, wrinkles diminish, pigmentation is completely removed or vastly reduced, and collagen growth is stimulated. Many facial conditions such as fine wrinkling around the eyelids, forehead, nose, and mouth can be smoothened with this simple process. Deep laugh and frown lines can be minimized. Even the lingering effects of chickenpox scars or acne scars can be successfully treated with laser skin resurfacing. Several areas can be treated with laser skin resurfacing including the face, neck, chest, décolleté, and even one’s hands. In order to perform some of the top laser skin resurfacing Beverly Hills has available, Dr. Lee will go over what you’re hoping to gain from this procedure, so that she may create a surgical plan that will meet your desires.

About the Procedure

Laser skin resurfacing is typically done as an in-office procedure. The laser is carefully passed over the skin in a precise, uniform pattern. Following the laser treatment, an ointment is applied to the skin to expedite healing. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine within one or two weeks. That being said, some patients experience a pink tinge of the skin for several weeks. Properly preparing the skin prior to the treatment will help a great deal in achieving a successful laser skin resurfacing, so that healing can be maximized.

"I highly recommend Dr. Kimberly Lee. My face skin tone has gotten so much better after fraxel (laser treatment) and Hydrafacial MD. I would also highly recommend Defendage skin care Line. After being introduced to it, I have started to use less of Sephora and other non-medical grade products. Dr. Lee made me feel very comfortable and I have very low pain tolerance but she was very patient with me (the laser can be painful but that's relative on individual basis)."

Intense Pulse Light Treatment

Intense Pulse Light (also known as IPL) treatment creates a smoother, brighter, and more even appearance. IPL treatments are generally performed as an in-office treatment.

An intense pulse light laser procedure has the ability to treat multiple skin issues such as brightening one’s skin, achieving a more radiant and youthful appearance, and lightening up age spots to diminish their appearance. IPL treatment uses a special white light that is composed of different frequencies which promote new cell production, unlike lasers that use only one frequency. Because of these varying wavelengths, the IPL Laser is absorbed by pigments that would lead to age spots, broken capillary vessels, and fibroblasts to help brighten and rejuvenate the skin.

IPL Laser can be used to treat the following medical conditions:

  • Sun damage or age spots
  • Fine lines or wrinkles, freckles, or sunspots that have irregular pigmentation
  • Large pores or dull texture
  • Pigment Irregularities such as sunspots or melasma, which are characterized by an uneven, darkened skin pigmentation
  • Rosacea
  • Redness in one’s back, neck, or chest
  • IPL treatments can motivate collagen formation within the dermis and smooth out uneven skin texture caused by acne scarring
  • Surgical scars can be lightened and reduce any redness from scarring
  • Stretch marks can be lightened
