We are excited to be able to offer our patients the newest technology in Fraxel laser treatments, Fraxel Dual laser skin resurfacing.
What is Fraxel Dual
Fraxel Dual is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art laser machine that uses two different lasers simultaneously. Being at the forefront of technology, Fraxel Dual treatment offers you best of both worlds. Lasers are characterized by their unique wavelengths. Fraxel Dual is unique in that is possesses two completely different wavelengths that can address different areas of concern. These varying wavelengths, when combined, work together to achieve markedly improved results for your face. With Fraxel Dual laser treatment, you can obtain a glowing, refreshed, flawless appearance.
How it Works
Fraxel Dual has two different wavelengths for laser skin resurfacing. The 1927nm wavelength represents the thulium laser and this is ideal for patients looking to resurface their skin to uncover a fresh, clean, rejuvenated tone and texture that is much smoother to the touch. Additionally, the 1927nm wavelength can work toward reducing the appearance of fine lines, hyper pigmentation, sunspots, freckles, and uneven skin texture. The 1550nm wavelength is ideal for patients looking to address deeper areas of concern, such as penetrating scars or craters due to acne, deeper uneven pigmentation, and some of the more conspicuous wrinkles.
Benefits of Fraxel Dual Laser Treatment
One of the benefits of Fraxel Dual treatment, is that there is minimal downtime for recovery. Each patient will be given post-treatment instructions with information on what to expect, as well as recommendations for specialized skin care products that will nurture and enhance your skin as it heals to give you a reinvigorated, radiant result.

Is it Safe?
Fraxel Dual treatments are safe and effective but must be performed by a certified professional. Laser treatments have come a long way, and the Fraxel Dual system is top of the line. By providing two different wavelengths that target specific skin depths and conditions, an array of skin conditions can be treated. As with any laser technology, ensure your treatment is in the hands of a certified professional such as Dr. Kimberly Lee. Follow your post-treatment care instructions – a crucial step in ensuring that you keep your skin safe and to help you get the results that you desire.
Recovery After Fraxel Dual
Recovery after treatment with Fraxel Dual can take up to three weeks, with the most involved healing occurring within the first week. During the first week, you can expect redness, tightness, and swelling in the treated area. By day three, you should be noticing that the outer layer of treated skin is sloughing off and the fresh, healthy skin will start to become visible. By the end of the first week, the peeling should be complete. The new skin below is quite sensitive, will be pinkish, and may take another week or two to settle completely. Always refrain from touching your skin during peeling, or picking off shedding skin, as this could lead to scars.
